Constantly we see articles about great bloggers that influence us, and usually these posts include big names like Darren Rowse, Guy Kawasaki, Brian Clark and other big name bloggers that most of us already read. I want to list some bloggers that influence me in big ways, but maybe you don’t know them yet. These bloggers range from brand new to intermediate bloggers that have great content and just aren’t as well known as the A-List names we see everyday.
Rob is a 15yr old teenager that has gotten recognition from names like Darren Rowse. His blog, Rob’s Web Tips, is a great resource for blogging, internet marketing, and other web topics. Some of his recent articles include an interview with Danny Dover from SEOmoz, and an article on the hard road to making a living online.
I met Rob through a post he wrote that I countered with a post of my own, we hit it off and have had several conversations through Skype. Even though we don’t always agree, Rob is a very smart teenager, and is well on his way to making big money online.
I started reading Brian’s Extreme Ezine blog several months ago, and Brian is the great guy that I got HotBlogTips from. He has some great ideas, and his blog has been one of my favorites for months. His latest post as of writing this article is a great networking post where you can leave your links for your different social sites and your blog and connect with others that have done the same.
Brian also has a site called YourAdTracker where you can shorten, cloak and track affiliate links. The service is free to try for 30 days, and if you are an affiliate marketer, I highly recommend you give it a try.
Nick is one of those bloggers that is sitting on the cusp of being a huge name. He has an attention to detail that is unbelievable. Nick’s how to blog site caters to bloggers from just about any level and just about any niche.
He is actually the inspiration for writing this article, his recent article on inspirational bloggers gave me the idea to write one about lesser known bloggers that have influenced me.
Allyn is a great, in your face, no BS blogger that has recently made some changes to his blogging style that I think will propel him into becoming a big name in blogging. His articles are always filled with plenty of information, videos (sometimes several videos), and he knows how to market a site.
Recently Allyn has been writing about backlinks, and a favorite of mine is his link stacking article. Check out Allyn, the master of his “domain” on Blogger Illustrated.
Wake Up Cloud is a blog written by this young up and coming blogger named Henri. He writes about topics ranging from money to personal development. Recently he wrote and article outlining how to overcome problems you will encounter while creating an e-book.
Extreme John is one of those guys I actually have a lot in common with, mainly because I own real businesses and I market them online with blogs. John is a leader in bringing brick and mortar type businesses online to market them, and he does a great job at it!
His blog, Extreme John, ranges from topics on business to twitter apps. Recently he wrote an article about his business and personal goals for March, and these come from a guy that is very busy operating several businesses. Very reachable goals, and they are measurable.
I have a planned interview with John in the future so keep your eyes out for that here on Hot Blog Tips, I promise you won’t want to miss it!
Jordan claims to be “NotaProBlog” on his site, but this guy knows what he is doing with internet marketing. He has a crazy, sarcastic way of getting his points across, but once you finish laughing, there is some great information underneath the satire.
I have had several one on one talks with Jordan, and his advice is straightforward and real. His advice on the only 2 rules with Twitter is spot on.
Keep an eye out for some future projects he is working on.
Here is a 12yr old kid, that recently started blogging on a site called Websitebegin. The name explains it, he is taking you through the things he is learning as he builds his site. I have talked to this guy several times, he has helped me with some CSS, and PHP, and he has a maturity level that most 12yr olds don’t have. Hell I don’t even have it sometimes.
Joe writes articles on why free web hosting isn’t good, the importance of social networking, and many other topics. I suggest keeping an eye on this young blogger….
These are just a few names that I keep an eye on and let influence me in my daily life of blogging and internet marketing. This list could have gone on and on, but my point is you can learn from bloggers of all levels, not just the big names.
What about you? Anyone that influences you that maybe others have not heard of?

Hey, Keith, thanks for putting me on the list!
I have read almost all of these blogs and they are very inspirational. Although most of these bloggers (including myself) are not well known, they show true skill. I would say almost everybody, if not everyone will succeed in the mere future.
Keith, appreciate the honorable mention here it does mean a lot.
Some of these bloggers I’ve never heard of before, but by them being recommended by you, I know just as well as any-other person, that all of these bloggers including myself and you, will be very successful in the long run.

Cool stuff, Keith!
I keep getting surprised everytime someone mentions me. This whole week has had several mentions of me all over the place. I am eternally grateful for that and I guess it’s just a sign that I’m heading in the right direction.
It’s refreshing to see a non-A-list list, because we all know that the big guys rock
. Thanks for the mention, dude!

@Brian D. Hawkins, Thanks Brian, I try not to look at Alexa (ok I look everyday!) but when I get into the top 100k I will be happy with it.

Hi Keith!
Always nice to see the old guys (John, John, & Brian) get a lil link love. LOL!
I was much more excited to to see the 2 young guys. They have great blogs and will soon be wiping the floor with the old folks.
I did fail to see any female bloggers listed…..I am sure you are saving them for a super special post. Ok, I had to get that in…I mean I have always came to Hot Blog Tips to give the author a hard time. It doesn’t matter that the author has changed. So, you have inherited Brian’s commentors…even the old grumpy ones.
FYI You also have 2 places that say Notify me of followup comments via e-mail – I checked them both.

It’s great to see my boy Sully on the list, John Sullivan is a big reason I even changed up how I blogged in the first place. Before John I made the mistake of thinking no one would really care about hearing the business side of things, the reality is my business side of things is much more exciting than the personal side so we have a win win. haha.
Thank you for the mention and anytime you want to do an interview let me know, I’ll work it in bro
Make it live or maybe should me the questions and Ill answer them, however you want.

Hi Keith, I’m not familiar with most of thes blogs, but I’m going to check them out. Thanks for introducing these new sites. Much appreciated.
@John Sullivan@The Blog No One Reads, I try to always keep myself open to learning from a wide variety of people, and even though not everyone gets along that I mentioned here, they all influence me in different ways.
