CommentLuv is a wonderful blogging tool and I’ve been using it to cross promote my blogs when replying to comments. It’s very easy to do.
Simply log into your WordPress admin panel. Then go to ‘Your Profile‘ under ‘Users‘ and add a different blog you own. In the ‘Website‘ blank just put the URL of the other blog you want to promote.
Now, if your theme allows it, your CommentLuv last post will be from the other blog. That’s it, simple cross promotion ![]()
I know this works from watching my stats. More visits are coming from my other blog’s post pages.

I’ll be the first to comment so you can see it in action. Look at ‘Brian Hawkins´s last blog’ below. That link is from my personal blog, brianDhawkins.com. So is the link on my name but that’s from WordPress.

I have not yet tried CommentLuv and I will not be using it on my blog.
One big problem it may bring with it is spammers. Many spammers would love a good link and that too with all the keywords they want! What do you think about this?

I totally understand what you are saying Mr. I. Spam is a big concern for sure. Personally I use CommentLuv and Do-Follow on all of my main blogs and I don’t think I get more comment spam than any other similar sized blogs but I could be wrong. I moderate most of my blogs so it doesn’t really help the spammer when the comment is deleted before it ever sees the light of day.
I have noticed Akismet seems to be having a hard time filtering the comment spam lately. I’ve added the plugin Bad Behavior to each blog and it seems to have eliminated a lot of work on my side. I just leave them both running now but I think comment spam will always be an issue no matter what we do or don’t do. Good point though.

Akismet sometimes does not filter that well
I also used to have Bad Behavior on my blog but it blocks many good people too! I got many complaints from people about this and had to stop using it.

Never heard of this particular technique. Thanks for the info!
Commentluv is a great plugin. Kewywordluv is great also. I find that apart from them helping bloggers showcase their own blogs when they comment, they are a good sign that the blog on which they’re installed is a good one. So I always keep an eye out for them.
