Google Hangout And Future Newsletter Plans

Google Hangout Follow Me on Pinterest

A Very Productive Video Conference

Yesterday afternoon I enjoyed a Google Hangout with the three other Newsletter Partners, Sheryl Loch, Mitch Mitchell and Ben Barden. This was by far the most productive Hangout we’ve had to date so I thought I would share some of the highlights with you.

Newsletter Frequency

We’ve been sending the Hot Blog Tips Newsletter out four times a week, one for each partner; now we’re going to send just twice a week. We’ll send my Blogging Tip and Sheryl’s Weekly Video Tip out on Mondays and Ben’s Quick Blogging Tip and Mitch’s Featured Blog Tip will go out on Thursdays. That’s just two issues a week with twice the value. What? You’re not subscribed? Subscribe today, it’s free blogging tips by four pro bloggers. Nuff said!

Newsletter Theme

Ben’s wife happens to design newsletter templates so we’re going to hire her to put together a nice template for the Hot Blog Tips Newsletter. She did a fantastic job on Ben’s Newsletter so I’m excited to see what she comes up with.

Blog/SEO Changes

Sheryl and I stayed after class and came up with a couple of post ideas and discussed a few SEO tactics. More on the blog posts later but for the SEO stuff, we decided to go No Follow for the most part. Those that comment correctly, often and/or share the post via CommentLuv will still have the opportunity for do-follow links but gone are the do-follow comments that are there simply as a link building task by those bloggers. We also discovered a couple of things like multiple H1 tags and such on the blog and we’re fixing those right away.

Watch Us Live On Air Next Sunday

Here’s the big one! I’m super excited about this idea. Next Sunday at 1PM Eastern Time we are going to get together for another Hangout but this time we’ll do a Hangout On Air that YOU can watch live, in real time, right from Google Plus or YouTube. We may even have a surprise guest and you will be able to participate via chat.

Like I said, this week’s Google Hangout was super productive and I would encourage more bloggers to network together the way we have as newsletter partners.

Can You Attend?

What do you think? Do you have any ideas or comments about our recent newsletter changes? Have you tried Google Hangouts out? It’s basically a very cool online video conference program. Will you be there for our live Hangout this Sunday? I certainly hope you can make it and you have my personal invitation to attend.
