My Email Marketing Mistakes

Email Marketing – Starting Over Is A Mistake

image - email mistakesI’ve been playing on the net for a long time and I’ve had my hand in email marketing since 2002 when I was running my first forum. The forum script had its own email system and I setup a regular newsletter for members. From there I was able, for the first time, to profit from a list.

Fast forward another year and I started two blogs on Blogger right after Google bought them out. Now I needed another resource for email marketing since Blogger did not provide such a service. Continue reading

The Podcast Blog: Jump on the Podcasting Bandwagon

Three Important Traits For The Podcast Blog

image - podcasting micAs blogging continues to gain momentum in the world of online marketing, many professional bloggers are exploring new types of content and new forms of publishing to freshen their approach. With so many blogs already on the web, it can be difficult to make real waves in the community at all, but especially without something that can set you apart from your competition. Video blogging and podcasting have become two of the more popular attempts at updating a traditional blog and creating an exciting reader experience. With these two forms of content, “readers” can encounter your work and message in a new way. The sheer newness of the podcast blog as a form of blogging can attract a wider audience. Podcasting allows your followers to interact with the podcast blog at a new and more personal level. While podcasting is a great way to spruce up your blog, it has to be done right in order to be truly successful. Finding Shared Circles on Google Plus

Three Ways How To Find Shared Circles on Google Plus

image - Google Plus CirclesMany of us have joined Google Plus and are posting, sharing and commenting but, are not getting much action back. There is no use in doing any of those things if there is no one seeing it so; we need to find more people to talk with. We don’t just want anyone, we want to find people who like the same things we do. Yeah, I don’t like Rap music, I don’t speak Japanese, I don’t own an iPhone, I don’t need to see every animated GIF from the last 20 years…so people who spend all their time sharing about those topics are really of little to no interest to me. And How To Use QR Codes

image - YouTube Video Sample QR CodeI love top image blog posts but this is a blogging tips website so I have to merge it with a little blogging education.

Are QR codes dead?

QR Codes, short for “Quick Response codes“, are simply 2D barcodes that can store a lot of information. The problem was the technology required to access this information, such as the smart phone, and the public education about them were slowly lagging behind the concept.

Well, technology is here to the tune of 6.8 million smart phone activations on Christmas day (2011) alone. Another 242 million apps were downloaded as well. Santa is no longer technologically impaired. So are QR Codes dead? I don’t think so, but who knows? Jeff Korhan predicts that 2012 will be a breakout year for QR Codes. Search Engine Watch says, “Mobile Barcode Scanning is on the Rise“. Continue reading

Twitter Tip: Befriend, Don’t Just Follow

image - making friendsTwitter is the social media site I use the most. I love it. I love finding new articles from the people I follow. I love getting into chats with people about anything from blogging and social media, to making cups of tea or how much it’s raining in London.

It’s great meeting new people on Twitter. If you follow me, I’ll get an email saying that you are now following me on Twitter. I’ll then go and check out your Twitter profile, your recent tweets, and your blog.

Something I’d like to know is how people find me, whether they follow me on Twitter or they’re commenting on my blog. As I’d like to know this about the people who follow me, I’ve started telling the people I follow how I found them – unless they followed me first. Continue reading
