Three Important Traits For The Podcast Blog

image - podcasting micAs blogging continues to gain momentum in the world of online marketing, many professional bloggers are exploring new types of content and new forms of publishing to freshen their approach. With so many blogs already on the web, it can be difficult to make real waves in the community at all, but especially without something that can set you apart from your competition. Video blogging and podcasting have become two of the more popular attempts at updating a traditional blog and creating an exciting reader experience. With these two forms of content, “readers” can encounter your work and message in a new way. The sheer newness of the podcast blog as a form of blogging can attract a wider audience. Podcasting allows your followers to interact with the podcast blog at a new and more personal level. While podcasting is a great way to spruce up your blog, it has to be done right in order to be truly successful. Follow these four tips to create podcasts that will lock your viewers’ attention and better convey your message.

Think Out the Logistics

Podcasting your blog post is a very different process than writing a traditional post. There are many things you have to do to prepare for your post before you can create something useful. If you decide to commit to making a podcast blog, you have to plan ahead. Before you get started think about how long the production of your podcast will take. Try to figure out how podcasting some posts will affect your blogging schedule and if you can manage the time commitment. It’s probably a good idea to come up with an overarching theme for your podcasting series. This will give your readers clear insight into what they should expect from your blog podcasts each time.

Be Concise and Direct

As it is too for a traditional text blog post, concision is imperative for podcasting to an internet audience. It can be easy, while you are podcasting your thoughts and ideas, to run off on tangents and give longwinded discussions of everything on your mind. However, to create a podcast that people will actually listen to the entire way through, you must be brief and to the point. Just as with traditional blogging, high quality content is key. You want to create posts that deliver something useful and interesting to your audience without making them work for it. Don’t ramble during your podcasts (though it can be tempting). Today’s internet audience wants immediate gratification online. Produce casts that get to the point quickly and are void of useless fluff.

Articulate

While this is a more obvious tip, it is too important not to mention. Creating a podcast that is produced carefully and articulated clearly is essential. Obviously, even the best of content can fail if you can’t hear it clearly. The fact is, regardless of how strong your material is, your audience isn’t going to give it the time or attention it needs if it sounds bad or is hard to understand. Articulate your words carefully. It can be a good idea to include a transcription of what you have said in your podcast along with your post. Listen to the completed cast to be sure that you can hear it clearly. You want to create the perfect listening atmosphere for your readers in order to keep them happy and engaged.

The podcasting concept is interesting. I’m already doing audios on one of my blogs, but I’ve not yet learned how to offer them for download. For SEO purposes, it seems that the text copy is important, and for many blogs, finding appropriate topics for podcasting might be challenging. In any event, the concept is worth giving some serious consideration. Thanks for the tips!

A very important thing for me in pod casting is that you should be ready with the content beforehand. Looking for notes in between the work will be a very, very bad impression on you and your business

No doubt, traditional blogging helps in marketing. But one should always try to make innovations through their blogs. These innovations attracts the readers more. Agree with you Podcast should also be concise and to the point as the blogs. Here also the quality content is the prime thing. If the visitors are not getting the useful information they are not going to visit the site again.

Plus, if you articulate well you can also attract foreign listeners that can’t really follow the spoken english if you rant with 100 words per minute. I know how these people feel because my ears bleed every time i watch a British movie :)
