I’ve been around long enough where I actually had a Yahoo email account with just my name. Now you would be lucky to come close to even the rarest of names. Now Twitter is well on it’s way to becoming just as challenging. Two weeks ago I grabbed my name on Twitter brianDhawkins and was glad to see it was still available. Just minutes ago it occurred to me that I better secure HotBlogTips before someone else does. Thank God it was there for the taking. Now I’m going to use this cool tool to send followers Hot Blog Tips. Don’t forget to follow us.
Have you secured your Twitter name yet? Grab your name, blog and niche right away if it’s not too late. It’s free and you have nothing to loose other than a few minutes of time.

I guess I was lucky that no one else seems to have my name and I got it no problem.
You my friend, are super lucky you got HotBlogTips! Holy crap! If I had thought about it I would have grabbed it & sold it to you for a million $!

That’s funny Sheryl, cause I wouldn’t have paid a nickle over a hundred grand lol

Twitter names are becoming like domain names. I remember using a service ‘checkusername’ or something similar to check availability of my username on popular social networking sites.

Hi Jeet, I haven’t heard of a service like that. It’s a great idea.

Facebook did declared this facility of using custom username before 4-5 months, and i grabbed mine fav, but i wasn’t aware of twitter, lemme check if it is still available, and lemme prepare before Orkut declares, lol.

I’m glad you found it still available Nick, now it’s there when you’re ready to build it.

I have tried contacting twitter via their TOS violation form but it has been months and they have no replied. Anyone know of a direct way to get my user name claimed? No one is using it even, it just an old suspended account.

I’m not surprised that it’s difficult to get a response from Twitter. They’re so big now and customer service takes a back seat with many of the large sites.

I’ve created my twitter account like 1 week ago, but unfortunatly i could’t get my preferred name. Instead i went for my own name and had to add a few numbers as well.
So far i’ve received almost no traffic at all from twitter as well. Looks like i have to keep expanding my followers list and see what happends.

Hi Gary, Too bad you couldn’t get your blog name but Make Money Blogging was certainly taken pretty quickly.
I have great news though – Teen Blogger Kid was available.
I took the liberty of securing it for you if you want it. I didn’t want to post it just to have someone grab it before you could get it. If you would like to have http://twitter.com/TeenBloggerKid just shoot me a note on my HelpDesk and I’ll send you the password.
I did add my three Twitter names and followed back so if you decide you want it you already have three followers but they are all me.
No charge or anything like that if you want the account, you just log in and change the password, email and details. You will need to use an email account that isn’t associated with another Twitter account when you change it.
