I apologize but this post is no longer relevant and/or out of date. It is kept online for archival reasons and may or may not be updated one day. I invite you to our Home Page for the most recent and best articles we offer. Thank you, Brian
I’m pretty excited to have our second weekly Hangout On Air (HOA) in just a few hours (1PM EST every Sunday). Last week’s Google Hangout went great and we had a lot of fun (Video Below). I just want to post a short piece on exactly what it is that we do and who’s doing it.

My Hangout Station – Wired and excited!
What Is A Hangout On Air (HOA)?
Google’s Hangouts On Air is nothing short of technology at its best. It’s a live multi-person video conference platform that simultaneously steams the live feed to Google Plus and YouTube and even leaves a recorded version on our YouTube Channel.
What Do We Discuss?
Each week we will have a group discussion on blogging related topics. For example, last week we talked about making money blogging, who do you write for, the viability of blogging and what we like about blogging. This week we’ll be talking about the Pro’s and Con’s of using free WordPress themes.
Who Is Involved?
Right now we have four Newsletter Partners and that’s who you will see each week. We do plan to bring on a guest or two from time to time and we’ll announce that ahead of time. The newsletter partners and weekly stars of the weekly Hangouts are:
Sheryl Loch: Sheryl is our video and social media expert. Sheryl is the one we can thank for this weekly collaboration because if it werenât for her I’d probably still be wondering what a Google Hangout was. Sheryl is the one behind the controls of our hangouts, she takes care of our YouTube Channel and a whole lot more.
Mitch Mitchell: Mitch is a pro blogger, a business finance and leadership expert and he’s been a friend for many years. Mitch’s well-grounded yet lighthearted contribution helps take the typical “How To” format from boring to actual entertainment.
Ben Barden: Ben is the latest member of our group and he joins us each week from London. Ben has over five years of blogging under his belt and helps teach others how to blog with Quick Blog Tips. Ben is also a programmer and actually works in the field for a day job.
Brian D. Hawkins: I am Brian and I run Hot Blog Tips. I’ve been blogging for years and, like the others, I enjoy helping other bloggers.
Together we make a great team! I challenge anyone to watch the video from last week (below) and disagree with that statement. Together we have a wealth of information to share and we are very comfortable with one another and that shows in our videos.
How Can You Participate?
Since our hangouts are live, you can participate by asking questions in a number of ways. You can chat with us during the Hangout on Google Plus and you can Tweet your questions via Twitter using the hashtag #HangoutWithHBT.
Eventually, once Google allows their G+ accounts to merge with older YouTube Channels, you will be able to post comments and questions live right on YouTube. We can even embed the steaming video within a blog post where you can interact directly from this blog.
Note: We have a short URL setup that will be edited each week AT 1PM Sundays to simplify sharing. Go there a few minutes after the Hangout starts and it should take you to our Google Plus channel where you can watch live and even comment and ask questions.
Well, this was going to be a short post so I’ll leave it there and bring on last week’s video for you…
Google always seems to be bringing out new products and technology, some good and some bad, but these hangouts on air look interesting.
Hi Mia, I think Google can count this one a success. I hope you can join us in a few hours, it will be fun.
Wish I could join this one, will be at my folks who have been quite ill past week. Is it possible to join from a Droid phone? or follow on Twitter?
Thanks! (Love the topic)
Sorry to hear your folks are ill Lisa, I hope they’re alright. That’s a good question about watching on the phone, I would be interested to know myself. I checked it on my nook today and it worked like a charm.
We do monitor hashtag #HangoutWithHBT on Twitter during the hangout. Perhaps you can join us next week. 🙂
This is the first I’ve seen of this. Listening to you guys talk SEO plugins/themes. Very cool!
That is cool Charles, thanks for watching. We’ll be on every week @ 1PM Sundays.
BTW, I’m only a few minutes from Canton (Belleville). We should get together sometime.

Brian I love that you are using Google Hangouts. We have been using them as a training tool to help small businesses offline. I will try and catch your next presentation…
That would be great Spencer, we’re live every Sunday.
Hi Brian, I have always been the fan of Google Products, from their email system to Hangouts! I would like to ask you one thing… Since I am in Laddakh , I don’t have the fast bandwidth of my connectivity , so is there any way to follow your discussions on YouTube? so that I could Download the videos by my Android Application!! Thanks, hope to hear from you Brian!
Sure Adrian, The Hangouts are now streamed on our YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/HotBlogTips You won’t be able to see the G+ comments there but can leave your own in real time.
I’m interested to join the hangout, But we have time differences. I don’t know exactly when 1pm in your country. I’m from india.

Your work station looks amazing! I guess your only audience in that room is your dog 🙂

Very informative blog! Thanks for sharing this information. I would agree that there are indeed a lot of people whose purpose is to deceive many just for their personal gain. I hope this blog could reach as many readers to share this worldwide.
