image - Best CommentA while ago I was reading a blog post (somewhere?) that gave me a great blog tip. The blogger recommended randomly rewarding a best blog comments with a free gift. I wish I could find that blog. If anyone knows the post please leave the link in a comment below.

The Best Blog Comment

Today’s best blog comment came from Ileane of BasicBlogTips.com. Ileane took the time to read a recent post, Join Social Media Today | Quick Blogging Tip Thursday, and to leave a thoughtful comment.

The Gift

Since I happen to know Ileane records video (See her YouTube Channel) I thought Liz Tomey’s Podcast Assistant In A Box might be helpful. It’s nothing special, it just takes your podcast or video text and scrolls it down the screen for easy reading while recording the audio or video.

Thatรขย€ย™s the great thing about bloggers! All reading and commenting on each otherรขย€ย™s material are very simple but need so much focus on it. We are all here to share what we know and learn what we donรขย€ย™t. When a new idea or plugin gets introduced, it can spread.

  6. It is somehow helps a lot in building relationship to your commentators by giving them rewards and recognition.

  7. Wow! It is really a hot blog tip. The gift is also amazing. I believe that this will help the bloggers get more comments and traffic. Another idea is to reward all those who comment regularly. I hope I get the gift ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. This is a good tactic to compel your followers to visit your blog daily and keep the traffic coming. Brilliant idea!

  9. Nice. Getting rewarded for a good comment aside from a link is pretty cool. Encourages good conversation and repeat readership. Well done sir.

  10. This is a great idea to award somehow people who always leave their comments after reading posts. I always read Ileane’s comments, they all are of premium quality and always very useful and necessary. My congratulations to you

  13. Wow congrats Ileane. you win the Brian’s mind and i really gain commenting idea through Ileane commenting mind. her every comment is very close to post theme and you can clearly get the whole post theme through her comment.
Thanks Brian for appreciating her however she really deserves it.

  14. Kudos to Ileane! By the by, I like the idea of acknowledging the best commentor. Not only is it creative, it is also effective. This encourages people to leave more insightful comments and at the same time it shows how you appreciate your readers and solidify your growing readership. It is also something that people can look forward to when they visit your blog. I suggest though that you include a quote of the exact comment as well. Cheers.

I Just happen to wonder, what makes a good comment?

    • That’s a fair question. The answer is a little harder though. I love our subscribers and readers and we get a ton of good comments. As of today, we have 1,032 comments on just 32 posts.

When I see a great comment that stands out, that’s when I start wanting to give back more than usual. It has to be an exceptional comment though. I don’t want to make it sound like I’m asking everyone to dance for treats, nothing like that. I just want to give back when I can.

  16. From my own blogging experience I can say that bloggers like to be rewarded for their active participations in interesting discussions and commenting other topic related blogs. Just keep in mind that if you are rewarded you will manage to get more valuable links for SEO purposes and more targeted traffic to a website in the end. So, be an active blogger and to the best to be rewarded for commenting blogs.

  17. Hey Brian,
Like the old saying always said, “It’s the thought that count.” It’s great to see someone giving back to someone who put their time and effort to really pay attention to what people have to say. Good job Ileane, keep it up!

  18. Great idea dude. rewarding the best comment. Just awesome idea. thanks for this idea.
