Show Notes: Google Shared Endorsements can be turned off as it relates to advertisements. You can opt-out with just a couple of steps. In this hangout, Brian D. Hawkins shows how to check your preferences and opt out of Google Shared Endorsement Ads.
Google Shared Endorsements Ads – On Google changed their TOS so that beginning in November 2013, Google’s Shared Endorsements may include names, pictures, ratings, and/or comments in the form of advertisements.
Shared Endorsements have been around for a while now but not in the form of blatant advertising. This change will allow Google to use Google user’s actions and signals to influence sales, notably to the user’s friends or contacts. Similar endorsements are already shown in search results, Google Plus, Google Play, etc.
